This topic provides an overview on configuration templates in Deployment Manager.

Configuration templates in Zuora Deployment Manager enable you to configure tenants quickly by importing a metadata configuration template file. This feature reduces the need for time-consuming manual configuration. You can access a repository of industry-specific templates and use them to combine, validate, deploy, release, and redeploy configurations improving operational efficiency.

> **Note**
>
> Configuration Template feature is available for administrators by default. For standard users, the availability is permission-based, and the permission level is Access Deployment Manager. ## High-level flow of Configuration Template

Configuration Templates automate the deployment of non-transactional objects (components). Using templates, you can deploy the same subset of configurations across multiple tenants and environments.

## Scope of Configuration Templates

* Templates can be downloaded only in JSON format, and the file is not editable.
* The maximum template size is 10 MB.
* Templates that are not used for deployment are automatically removed after 60 days.
