# Create a dataset-based report

Learn how to create a dataset-based report.

Go to **Reports & Dashboards** > **Datasets**.

Select an existing dataset, or create one from a supported source.

Go to **Reports & Dashboards** > **Reports**.

Click **Create Report**.

Select the dataset that you want to use.

Click **Continue** to open **Report Builder**.

Add dataset fields to the report layout.

Add metrics, grouping, and report-level filters.

Select **Summary** or **Detail mode**.

Preview or run the report.

Save the report if you want to reuse, schedule, share, or export it.
