# Delete a custom field from a custom object definition

Learn how to delete an existing custom field from a custom object definition.

Navigate to **Object manager entry** in the left navigation.

Click the name of the custom object definition that contains the custom field you want to delete. The custom object detail page opens.

Locate the custom field you want to delete, and then click the Delete icon *(delete hollow icon)*.

Click **Delete** on the confirmation dialog. Zuora deletes custom field definitions asynchronously. See [Monitor custom field jobs](/docs/platform/extensibility/custom-fields/custom-field-management-with-the-object-manager/monitor-custom-field-jobs) for how to monitor job status and completion.
