# Apply a style token

> Apply a style token to a component or element so its style property references a reusable token instead of a hard-coded value.

Apply a style token to a component or element so its style property references a reusable token instead of a hard-coded value.

Select the component or element.

Open the **Design** panel.

Locate the style property that you want to update.

Select an existing token from the list.

Save your changes.

The selected property now references the token instead of a hard-coded value.
