# Create a user account using Account Sync

Use the User Accounts module to manage the end user accounts for your customers. Customer administrators use this module to create, update, and control the accounts that let users log in to web pages and view the data from the billing system.

Use Account Sync to compare your existing customer accounts and the contacts within them. When you run Account Sync, the system automatically creates end user accounts for the matching contacts in your customer accounts.

Before you run the sync, configure the contact field that you want to use for matching. You can compare the user account against fields such as personal email, sold-to contact, sold-to personal email, ship-to contact, ship-to work email, or ship-to personal email. After you choose the matching field, run the sync operation to create the user accounts.

Account Sync helps you create user accounts automatically from your existing customer accounts instead of creating each account manually.

In the left navigation pane, navigate to **Customer** > **User Accounts**.

Select the gear icon to open the settings.

Select **Account Sync**.

The Account Sync page is displayed.

Select the **Sync Accounts** tab.

(Optional) If no email matches the user name, select the **Create new users if no matching email found** checkbox.

Select **Start Sync**.

The new user account is displayed on the User Accounts page.
