# Create Custom Role for Experience Builder

Learn how to create a user role and assign permissions to control what users can do in Experience Builder

Create a user role to define a set of permissions that you can assign to one or more users in your organization.

Navigate to **Customers** > **User Accounts** > **Settings**.

Expand the **User Roles** section.

Click **Add Role**.

In the **Name** field, enter a name for the role.

In the **Description** field, enter a description for the role.

(Optional) To make this role the default role for new users, select the **Default role** checkbox.

Select the permissions to assign to the role.

Click **Create Role**.

The new role is displayed in the User Roles list and is available for assignment to users.
