# Manage Account Linking

Learn how to configure account linking settings to control how users are matched to billing accounts and how self-registration is handled.

Navigate to **Customers** > **User Accounts** > **Settings**.

Expand the **Account Linking** tab.

In the **Account Matching Field** list, select the Zuora contact field to use when linking users to billing accounts.

* Bill-To Contact Work Email
* Bill-To Contact Personal Email
* Sold-To Contact Work Email
* Sold-To Contact Personal Email
* Ship-To Contact Work Email
* Ship-To Contact Personal Email

In the **Self-Registration Mode** list, select how users can create access to your web pages.

* Open: Users can self-register, and Zuora automatically links them to matching accounts.
* Request Only: Users can request access, and you must approve and link the accounts.
* Disabled: Users cannot self-register, and you must create all users manually.

In the **When No Account Match Is Found** list, select how Zuora handles a registration request that does not match an existing account.

* Create without account: Zuora creates the user without linking it to an account. You can link the account later.
* Show error: Zuora rejects the registration request if it does not find a matching account.

Click **Save**.
