Learn how to configure a meter to use upload event or transaction data files, including guidelines for file formats and size limits.

You can upload the event or transaction data in the form of a file and use that as the source for a custom meter.

Meter volume limits:

<table>
  <tr>
    <th />

    <th>
      API Sandbox
    </th>

    <th>
      Zuora Developer Sandbox
    </th>

    <th>
      Zuora Central Sandbox
    </th>
  </tr>

  <tr>
    <td>
      Data File Upload
    </td>

    <td>
      * File Size: 10 MB (tenant configurable)
      * Rows: 10,000 (tenant configurable)
      * Supported upload formats: CSV, JSON, Parquet, Excel, XML, Avro. The .ndjson extension is not accepted, although NDJSON content can be parsed by the runtime.
    </td>

    <td>
      The same as API Sandbox
    </td>

    <td>
      The same as API Sandbox. No environment-specific overrides exist for Central Sandbox.
    </td>
  </tr>
</table>

Production follows the same limits as Central Sandbox.

* Both maximum file size and maximum rows are configurable per tenant, not per environment.
* CSV uploads require a header row.
