Zuora Mediation turns raw usage events into billable usage records for Zuora Billing. A meter is a streaming pipeline with the following structure: ``` SOURCE → PROCESSOR(s) → SINK ``` Mediation MCP exposes Mediation through an AI assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You can use an MCP-compatible client, such as Cursor, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, VS Code Copilot Chat, or Gemini CLI. The assistant uses the same OAuth identity and permissions as the Mediation user interface and REST APIs. It can help you perform the following tasks: * Discover meters and read meter definitions. * Validate task graphs before you save them. * Create or update meters after you approve the change. * Start and stop meter runs. * Check run status and history. * Review run summaries and operator summaries. * Browse error and sample audit records. * Create and download audit exports. ## Mediation MCP capabilities | You want to | Mediation MCP helps you | | --------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- | | See what meters exist | List and read meter definitions. | | Design or change a pipeline | Validate task graphs and create or update meters after approval. | | Operate a meter | Start and stop runs and check status and history. | | Investigate failures | Retrieve error audit samples and operator summaries. | | Reconcile data offline | Create audit export jobs and download the results. | ## Mediation MCP tools Mediation MCP exposes three tools with a total of 40 operations: | Tool | Operations | Purpose | Start with | | --------------------- | ---------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------- | | `manage_meters` | 19 | Manage event schemas, event stores, connections, and meter task graphs. | `meter_guidance` | | `manage_meters_run` | 14 | Manage the run lifecycle, status, history, summaries, prefetch, and ingestion helpers. | `run_guidance` | | `manage_meters_audit` | 7 | Browse error and sample audit records and manage bulk export jobs. | `audit_guidance` | Each call includes an operation name and its parameters. Do not invent parameters. Use the applicable guidance operation or the tool schema. Mediation MCP is part of the broader Zuora Developer MCP, also called Zuora Remote MCP or DevX Remote MCP. Billing tools, such as `manage_usage`, use the same server but are not Mediation pipeline tools. You can also ask the MCP server about its capabilities.
