# Download: SFTP

> This reference describes the Download: SFTP task.

This reference describes the Download: SFTP task.

The Download: SFTP task downloads a file from a specified SFTP server and can optionally delete, move, or rename the original file after the download, depending on the post-download options that you configure.

To configure this task, you must:

* Specify the SFTP server host, port, and authentication method.
* Specify the relative file path and file name pattern on the server.
* Configure post-processing actions for the original file after it is downloaded.
* Optionally configure SFTP algorithms and other options on the Options tab.
