# Field mapping actions

> The Field Mapping page includes actions that allow you to edit and test mapping configurations.

## Editing

The **Editing** action unlocks the field mapping interface so that users can modify mappings.

After making changes, click **Save** to apply the updates.

## Dry Run

The Dry Run action executes a test job using the current field mappings. This job retrieves data from the source system and simulates a synchronization process. The job runs similarly to a normal synchronization job and its results appear in the **Jobs** tab.

However, no data is sent to the target system. Instead, the job output displays a sample payload so that users can validate their mapping configuration. Ensure that you save all mapping changes before executing a dry run.
