# Implement Data Access Control process overview

Explains the high-level process to implement Data Access Control.

Data Access Control gives you the ability to control what your users see within Zuora.

## Prerequisite

You must have Zuora Platform Administrator permission to manage Data Access Control. See [Zuora Platform roles](/docs/platform/security-and-identity/administrator-settings/user-roles/platform-roles) for more information.

## Process

To begin using data access control, perform the following steps:

1. [Create a tag hierarchy](/docs/platform/security-and-identity/administrator-settings/data-access-control/step-1-create-a-tag-hierarchy)
2. [Apply tags to objects](/docs/platform/security-and-identity/administrator-settings/data-access-control/step-2-apply-tags-to-objects)
3. [Apply tags to users](/docs/platform/security-and-identity/administrator-settings/data-access-control/step-3-apply-tags-to-users)

After Data Access Control is enabled, users will only see the information pertains to them.
