# Update user role permissions in OneID

> Update an existing user role in the OneID Admin Console when you need to change the entity, tenant type, creator, or permission assignments for that role.

Update an existing user role in the OneID Admin Console when you need to change the entity, tenant type, creator, or permission assignments for that role.

In the OneID console, navigate to **Admin Console** > **User Roles and Permissions**.

Select the role for which you want to update the permissions.

Click the edit icon.

The role details page appears.

In the **Basic Information** section, click the edit icon to update the **Role Name**.

In the **Permissions** section, select the required permission from the respective modular categories.
