# Assign an organization to an account

Learn how to assign or update an organizations on an account.

Navigate to **Customers** > **Customer Accounts**.

Select the required account.

Click **Edit** on the account detail page.

In the **Organization** field, perform one of the following:

* Assign an organization: If the account organization is null, select an organization to assign.
* Change an organization: Update the existing organization as needed.

  >
  > All associated transaction objects automatically inherit or update to the selected organization through an asynchronous labeling process.

Click **Save**.

> **Note**
>
> * You can assign an organization only when the account's organization is null.
> * Once assigned, the organization cannot be removed through the Zuora UI. Use the Data Labeling API if needed.
> * For data migration use cases, use the Data Labeling API instead of the UI.
