# Install Zuora MCP server in Claude Code for desktop client

> Configure Claude Code for Desktop Client to use the Zuora MCP server by updating the local configuration file with the required server details and credentials.

Configure Claude Code for Desktop Client to use the Zuora MCP server by updating the local configuration file with the required server details and credentials.

Claude Code enables command-line interaction with AI tools and MCP servers. To use Zuora MCP, update the local configuration file with the required server details and credentials.

Ensure that Node.js is installed and that you have your Zuora client credentials before you begin.

To open the Claude Code configuration file, Locate and open the `~/.claude.json` file in a text editor.

Insert the following JSON into the configuration file:

```json
"mcpServers": {
  "zuora-developer-mcp": {
    "type": "stdio",
    "command": "npx",
    "args": ["-y", "zuora-mcp"],
    "env": {
      "ZUORA_BASE_URL": "{baseUrl}",
      "ZUORA_CLIENT_ID": "{clientId}",
      "ZUORA_CLIENT_SECRET": "{clientSecret}"
    }
  }
}
```

Ensure that the JSON structure is valid and properly nested within the file.

Save the configuration file.

Restart the CLI to load the updated configuration.

Run the `/mcp` command and confirm that the Zuora MCP server appears in the list of available servers.

Claude Code is configured to use the Zuora MCP server, and you can run commands that query and manage Zuora data.
